Calabasas Townhomes

Las Virgenes Road, aka Malibu Canyon is ten miles of views and vistas from US 101 to the PCH in Malibu. This beautiful land holds a historic story of yesteryear in Southern California, yet maintains its own natural and rustic feel even as the mountainous canyon bows to the inevitable hands of time.

The sequestered town-homes of The Colony in Calabasas, and El Encanto provide a secure and serene environment within their gates. The architectural themes blend well with their native surroundings – Spanish-California with elements of the old California missions along the El Camino Reale surrounded by the towering chaparral-covered Santa Monica Mountains

Malibu Tree & Landscape have enhanced numerous dwellings in both communities sheltered within their private domains, always endeavoring and achieving to create a unifying theme, while providing a vision unique to the client’s wishes. Some examples are depicted herein…

This charming English Tudor home was built in 1927 – the low-maintenance and durable landscape reflects the warm, classic English Country garden feel and ambiance of the home. Perennial color and hardy plants and tree forms. In the backyard the 80 year old concrete which covered the entire area was recycled – breaking and stacking it creating low perimeter garden walls and rustic stepping stones in the lawns. Sweetwater Canyon Malibu

This property went through one of the major Malibu fires which miraculously left the house standing while charring the entire canyon. It is a beautiful contemporary home set in one of the prime canyons in Malibu with a full view of the iconic Malibu Pier, Santa Catalina Island to the south, and the rugged Santa Monica Mountains to the north. The lush plantings were not only meant to showcase the home, but there was a real need to incorporate many different approaches to erosion control and water management following the conflagration. All have been totally effective. The lap pool, spa, and an adjoining deck commands the deep canyon view while being isolated from the outside world in effect – as with the large backyard and dining patio. Automatic irrigation and LED lighting throughout.
